Sound Design
For the sound design project I wasn't sure where to start first. I wanted the film twice through with out sounds and decided that the best way to do this would be to start from the beginning and add the head scratch. After adding in all the little sounds (footsteps, head scratch, crunching paper, horse and wagon), I over laid a classic silent movie "song". This distracted you from synching up the footstep sound effect with every step. After doing that, I watched it a few more times and still felt like something was missing. I wanted to add a mark sound or something that gives the video some more detail. After adding that, I felt happy and confident in my work.
-Sound Design is key for making a good film
You don't often really good sound design. But you do notice a bad sound design. When it is done correctly you aren't thinking about the sound at all, but you're feeling it. The film pulls you into the story, and you feel that you are living in the "world of the film".
